Scholarships and Student Jobs
MU-Geology Field Camp Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of alumni and supporters, we offer up to $10,000 in scholarships each summer. The precise amount of the award depends on available funds and the number of qualified applicants. Minimum grade point requirements for a scholarship are a 3.2 overall GPA and a minimum 3.2 GPA in all geology courses completed.
How to Apply for a Scholarship
Applications can be made by mail or email to Dr. Nathan Hopkins, field camp director (see mailing address and email on the Contact page), and be accompanied by:
- Unofficial transcripts for all of your college coursework (multiple schools if necessary) issued by your school, which can be emailed directly to Dr. Hopkins
- A letter of reference from one or more of your geology professors (professors can email them directly to Dr. Hopkins)
No statement of financial need is required. The amount of the award depends on the quality and number of qualified applicants in a given year.
Scholarship applications are due by March 1st. Funds will be awarded by the end of March, after applications are reviewed.
